Um, yeah, been gone awhile...

I knew when I started a second blog that it would probably get neglected now and then. Last year on my photography blog I did a weekly series called "Tuesday Tunes". Now, I realize it's not Tuesday, but I'd forget to come back next week! And I really want to get this shared.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song. Something about it just gets to me. I love knowing it's okay to take my hurt, my fears, my concerns, my anger, everything to God. And not only is okay, God wants me to! I find such freedom and comfort in that.

Better Than a Hallelujah by Amy Grant

God loves a lullaby
In a mothers tears in the dead of night
Better than a Hallelujah sometimes.

God loves the drunkards cry,
The soldiers plea not to let him die
Better than a Hallelujah sometimes.

We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah.

The woman holding on for life,
The dying man giving up the fight
Are better than a Hallelujah sometimes

The tears of shame for what's been done,
The silence when the words won't come
Are better than a Hallelujah sometimes.

We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah
Better than a church bell ringing,
Better than a choir singing out, singing out.

We pour out our miseries
God just hears a melody
Beautiful the mess we are
The honest cries of breaking hearts
Are better than a Hallelujah

Repeat Chorus

Long gap...

Things have been completely insane at work. Which, tends to be where/when I do my blogging... I need to start doing it more from my phone. I'm going to work on that.

I read a quote today on a friend's fb status, "God is vastly patient and relentlessly persevering as He intrudes into your life. God’s love is full of blood, sweat, tears, and cries. He suffered for you. He fights you. He pursues you in powerful tenderness so that He can change you. He’s jealous, not detached." -d.p.

I wanted to know badly who DP was (David Powlison) and if there was more to it than this, so I googled and found it here - http://asacrificeofpraise.wordpress.com/2010/02/11/gods-love-is-better-than-unconditional/. Check it out!

Verse shared during worship yesterday...

Acts 4:12
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.

This stuck with me all day yesterday and into today. I made sure to bookmark it in my bible app. Yay for the iphone working for God!
